About Anna

Anna Christian is a design and creative director specializing in brand systems and content-rich storytelling. Her career spans publishing, nonprofits, and lifestyle brands, with work that balances clear structure, visual warmth, and practical tools for teams. She focus on establishing the structures and standards that enable large organizations to design consistently at scale.

Anna Christian is an experienced creative director focused on building clear, durable brand systems and guiding teams toward cohesive, meaningful work. With roots in publishing and visual communication, she has spent her career shaping brand direction, stewarding large-scale initiatives, and aligning creative work with organizational goals — always with an eye for clarity, warmth and lasting impact.

Anna began her career in New York City, working with influential design studios and publishers, including Workman Publishing, Emerson Wajdowicz Studios, and Fortune magazine. In 2002, she launched her independent studio, AnnaDesign, where she led projects with leading publishers, lifestyle brands, and mission-driven organizations. Her work during this period earned recognition for its strong visual narratives and carefully crafted systems behind the surface.

In 2014, Anna moved into an in-house leadership role at UNICEF USA, where she led national brand design and played a key role in evolving the organization’s visual identity and design standards. Her systems-driven approach focused on building scalable tools and frameworks to support teams and partners, many of which continue to inform design practice across the global UNICEF network. Alongside this role, she has continued to collaborate selectively through AnnaDesign on advisory and leadership-focused engagements aligned with her expertise and values.

Shaped by timeless, functional influences and a lifelong love of design, Anna draws ongoing inspiration from nature, film, local design culture, and her regular time spent in Denmark — especially long summer evenings, quiet walks by the sea, and time with her daughter and their dog.

Let’s talk.
